Hey there! I'm sorry that I'm running a little bit behind. I've had a bit of an emotional week. It's incredible how much of your heart you put in a few people, and how destabilizing it is have that shaken. But if there's anything I've learned from nude modeling, is that there is sublime beauty in becoming vulnerable. And if need be, there is nothing more humanizing than heartbreak.
Anyways, here's not 5, not 10, but 28 shots of a wonderful duo shoot with my friend Azalea Jeannette. Sean Sato, Jason Lee, and we shot this for Jade Week, an opulent gala every year in San Francisco in celebration of Jade and Asian culture. In every shot, we hold a large piece of pure white Burmese jade. Each piece has this beautiful white translucence with fine veins underneath its smooth patina, not unlike the complexion of a fair woman, and we wanted to capture that with abstract, entwined feminine figures. It's quite fitting because I'm Chinese, Azalea is half-Chinese, and we owe a lot of our beauty to the legacy before us.
Oh, and the big wheel is hella heavy, cool to the touch, and a great free weight to use during shoots :) Thank you again for making this possible! <3
